Thumbs up Bike Lift

I bought a "HANDY 1000" bike lift from a friend for $300, new on their web site with front tire vise is around $1200, it's been used 2 times. My question is has anyone had any experience with one of these? Thought it would make it easier to work on bike and cleaning it.
