Yeah BigLew, but it is kinda hard to be running your bike alongside 'em at that speed at the same time...unless of course we had a top secret testing ground to "--open 'em up a bit"...yee haw!!!

Re: speed

I took my Ultra out with a guy from the local dealer who was on a 2010 street glide with 124hp at the rear wheel and I know I backed off my bike at about 110mph and I know I still had more to go.

So what is wrong with my 09 Ultra? 105 mph with a stage one. TFI, Pipes and AC. Now I am frustrated......

Re: speed

Cannot answer your question, but my motor is not stock. I never really heard anything about Harley putting any kind of limiters on the bikes though. Does your bike run good? Maybe you have a tuning issue.

Yea Wall, I have to agree. You have every right to feel frustrated. There's no way my older Twin Cam Ultra should be performing about the same as your Ultra, which is new and improved in every way, in addition to your completed Stage 1.

I also find it hard to accept that speedo error could account for that much of a difference, although if I'm wrong lew, or one of the other guys more knowledgeable than me on this issue, tell me.

It's not just Harleys. The speedometer on my 05 Goldwing is even further out of whack than my 09 Road Glide. The RG speedo might show 1-3 miles faster than the bike is going but the Wing often shows 5 - 7 miles faster than the bike is going. (confirmed with my GPS) My Wing is not alone with this problem and there are aftermarket gadgets being sold to correct it. A couple of my friends with other makes of bikes also report similar inaccuracies in their speedo's.

Maybe more?

Speedo error?

What do you think?

Quite possible it has something to do with the drive by wire. I know when you nail those from a stop, the throttle body does not open like the older ones did until you reach a certain speed then it opens up.

Re: speed

My TFI settings are according to the web site. The only one I could really set was the first pod. All the rest are as recommended settings for stage one set up. I wish I knew for sure how to tune it. Seems odd that the same recommendation for any pipe and AC is the same? Bike seems to run fine under normal riding conditions. Still want it the best it can be.
