HD Smart Security System

I just purchased a 2009 Road King without the security system. I have a 2007 Sportster that has the same part number as the Road King for the Smart Security System. The FOBs are already set with a PIN number that I have with the Sporty. Can I remove the TSSM from the Sportster and install it into the Road King and think that the PIN will remain the same or will I have to return to the HD dealership to have the FOB reset? trying to save 300 bucks. Thanks.

Re: HD Smart Security System

I've never seen this done but if the part numbers are the same then it may work.

You would have to remarry the TSSM to the new bike and possibly reset the password too.

Re: HD Smart Security System

I would think that you'd have to reprogram it since you're work with different ECMs, but regardless, the information Glider provided is invaluable. I installed a HD security system on my bike and would not have been able to do it without the help of HDTalking.
