Re: Crash Boom Bang!!!

Back in the far mists of time,i was sitting on a beach foreshore eating my hot chips, when i hear this loud discordant scraping noise!Looking up,i see my Ducati being pushed backwards by some clown in a hurry.Shoved it 23feet(measured),broke the steering stop and put a hole in the fuel tank.It didn't fall over;just stayed on the centrestand all the way.

Then took off with me hanging off the side of his car trying to damage him.

This guy's excuse was he didn't see it,although i was parked there when he arrived.

It got fixed and no one was hurt(not even me). That's the main thing.

Slapp; I think I'm on your side, sensitivity is overated. Accident, just means not being careful. Sounds like it's easier to be mad at Dad than admitting to fault. Now if she was texting at the time.............

I'm afraid I'd be "insencitive" too, but not as insencitive as I'd be if some MORON pulled out in front of me or side swiped me cuz they "didn't see" me. Cut her a break Man, I bettcha she's as sorry as (SELF EDITED). The Dealer....that's another thing, tell him ta get ya a Rental for the ride, it won't be yours but at least ya can do some riding with your Bros. 10 years.......that's a decade and that's too long!

I agree. With what, you ask? Give her a hug and make sure you explain that this was NOT an accident, it was a MISTAKE, a preventable mistake. Then explain that we all make mistakes and must be accountable for them, and learn from them.

The bike will get fixed. I would be livid, too, but everyone here expects that of me.

Slapp I'm afraid I'll hav to agree with most of the posters and say that you should give her a hug and tell her you love her. After all it is only a motorcycle. We seem to always put too much value on things instead of on people. Bikes, cars, houses and other things can be replaced or repaired a relationship can't always be repaired. Like they say family is of the utmost importance. Good luck.

Re: Crash Boom Bang!!!

There is a dealer at a local casino that was backing her ford Excursion down her driver when she looked the review mirror and saw her husbands heritage behind her; she turned toward the other side of the drive and ran over the front end of his new corvette.

No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. I'm sure your daughter means more to you than your bike. I would suggest you make sure she knows it also. Just my 2cents worth.

Re: Crash Boom Bang!!!

This is no accident, more along the lines of being careless and in a hurry. Like others have said, it is pretty hard to miss EG. No doubt about it I would have come unglued as well.

Sorry bud, I hope you get it back in time for your run.

Slapp, I'm sure you are tired of hearing it but love on her and try to explain about not being in a hurry to make all is clear around a vehicle before one moves it. One more thing that many may not agree with is I always try and park mine where I can to leave as little room for error as possible for THE OTHER person to hit my bike, like not behind the wife's car. Just my .02 worth.
