Question ABS Brake retrofit ????

Is it possible/practical to retrofit an ABS system onto a 2004 Road Glide?

Anythign is possible, The cost would destory you and your home life.
New wheels all the brake parts ECM. My wallet ran away while I was reading the post.
And the value of ABS thats another topic.
If you really want ABS this would be time to look at trade.

the abs brakes are the same as non abs, the wheels are the same it just uses an encoded bearing and a speed sensor to read them, the ecm is the same just a different calibration,

then on top of all that there is the solenoid, pumps and all the associated electrics and pipework to make the ABS work, look behind the right hand panel of a touring bike with ABS and see what i mean this has bias valves and allsorts of hydraulic gubbins inside, and for what ABS is worth i have only ever activated it once on my Ultra and that was when i first got it

I have seen a jigger that goes between your brake hose banjo fitting and the caliper that is supposed to stop wheel lockup.I don't know how efficient they worked. I don't remember the manufacturer or it name but I think they were about a hundred bucks. I will search around a bit.

The system that I was talking about is called TCB Brake System. You can goggle them. There is some information on You tube. Hope this helps you out without the huge cost off an abs system

I've heard of someone locking up their front wheel with the new Brembo's HD uses now, but can you squeeze hard enuf to lock em up with the stock fronts on an '04, if not I don't think ABS is necessary, fourtunately I haven't had to put them to the test yet to see.

Bet you can lock 'em up if it is raining. ABS takes into account the coefficient of road friction.

Hoop!

Good point hoop, they would be easier to lock up in an emergency braking situation on wet roads and the ABS could really save your hide.
