Rich..........I'll bite, Don't tell me your fob went dead, I always wondered what would happen if the battery went dead on this thing while I was riding it. What happened?

What happened was, I set the alarm, (something I RARELY DO, by the way), when my buddy Sammy and I went into this bar associated with a couple of MC's.

No problem in the bar, had lunch, a beer, (my limit while riding, no limit when not ), and came out to find my fob battery was dead, and the bike would NOT "disarm" so I could start it!

Of course, I had NEVER SET THE MANUAL CODE!

So, there I was. STUCK.

I had to call Cat and have her hunt for my second fob, and drive the 30 minutes to where we were so I could attempt to disarm the scooter.

The whole 30 minutes all I could think was, "Is the second fob dead? I haven't used it in YEARS."

I am not exaggerating when I tell you that spare fob, when Cat arrived and hit me in the head with it, had about ONE signal left in it before going dead like the first one, but it did work, and I was on my way.

New batteries in both fobs, the security code now SET, and a spare battery in my bag!

What if I had been somewhere a LOT further from home, and Cat had been with me??

NOW, THAT'S FUNNY.................heh, heh, heh.......I don't care who ya are!!!
I'm still wondering what happens if your "riding" and your fob goes dead, does it cut off your ignition? On the 07 and later there's no set button on the fob, it's just a vacinity transmitter and if someone tries to take your bike without the fob, it won't start, right?

if it goes flat with the motor running the alarm cannot arm so it wont cut out or stop it means when you get to the destination and switch it off then it will arm and you will be stuck

This is where it's important to have your PIN code in your wallet so you can manually disarm the alarm.

EXCELLENT POINT! In my case, the situation was even worse, because I had never set up a manual code. In that case, if both fobs were to be lost/damaged, a VERY expensive repair ensues after the bike is towed to the dealer. So it is vital that every owner set up a manual code that can be used to disarm the bike if such an event happens. (It's done through alternating use of the directionals, for those of you who are wondering what I'm talking about.)

I was lucky, in that I had neglected to set it up, but had a working fob to get me going. You can bet I set it up right after that!
