Did you refer to the Amsoil white sheets to see if you were doing it right?
According to the 4 ball wear test that they use, it has to be done a certain way.

Oh great now you tell me! All this time and I was doing it wrong and then you expect me to be able to read their white sheets?? I think I am going back to the horse manure remedy my neighbor recommended!
