I put a Jagg (10 row low mount) on mine ('03) using the filter adapter with the built in thermostat.

FLH 10-row Horizontal Lowmount Oil Coolers - Jagg Oil Coolers

Good idea but I think it's better to mount it on the oil pump return...

Re: oil coolers

Just installed a Jagg Vertical Mount 10 row and saw a 20, possibly 30 degree drop in oil Temp.. Enough to convince me Money Well Spent... Especially for Florida Summers ..

Re: oil coolers

I have the HD cooler that mounts down by the voltage reg., has the filter adapt. and the built in thermostat. Recently added the digital oil temp dip stick. Could not be happier. Did 30 miles at about 75mph on a 96 degree day and at the end of the ride, oil temp was at 217 degrees. This is on a 2000 Ultra.

Re: oil coolers

What ever kind brand or model you go with mount it preinstrustion or you may fine yourself with a dead engine.
NO madder what anyone tells you an oil cooler will at best reduce temps by about 20 degrees under the best condition. The folks that make them do not even try to claim more than that. They are one tool.
Most of the heat you feel off your big Vtwin comes for exhaust and heads and oil cooler will do nothing for that. It will help keep oil from reaching its failure point.
However the engines with oil cooled heads will get some help from a good cooler.
