2009 Road King: Fuel Consuption

Hi,

my new RK consumes at least 5,8 litres/100 km. More than 6 when going 120km/h on the motorway.
It now has made 1600 km total.

The HD commercials speak of 4,4 l.

What is realistic ?

Cheers,
Joe Schmack

Re: 2009 Road King: Fuel Consuption

On a $17.00 fill at .99cents a liter. I'm getting on average 450km. That's about 26km per liter. I run S/E pipes, stage 1 AC and a TFI. Mileage has not changed much since the upgrade. I get a low fuel light with 75km remaining according to the onboard comp.

Re: 2009 Road King: Fuel Consuption

26km per litre = only 3,8 litre per 100 km !!!!!!!
This is less than HD says.

Do you only cruise dohnhill ??

Or maybe here in Germany is more frantic ....

according to my calculations, my 2009 stock, RK is getting 4.62/100KM. This is calculating all milage and fuel since it was new. (I have 1,202 miles = 1,934 kilometers)

My last fill up revieled 5.38/100KM

Makes me smile

Just came back from a run. My first calc was from memory and was not quit accurate. My calculation is 4.6/100km. That's running 80/20, highway/city. Three of my driving partners getting the same all running stock road cushions. Thats at an average of 75 degree's. That's warm for the coastline in eastern Canada.

Re: 2009 Road King: Fuel Consuption

Hi,

41mpg ~ 5,75l/100km is apparently normal.
My dealer said that the consumption will decrease after some 1000 km.

Let's hope so!

Hi,

Not a new one but my RK '00 (TC88 Engine-with carburator) at 50.000km consumes around 7.5 l/100km in city traffic...
Quite high isn't it?
