1000 mile - change fork oil? -remove air baffle?

On the official HD site the 1000 mile check-up specifies change the front fork oil. Looking in the manual a fork disassemble is required. Is this real??
Also on my FLTR the manual 2.20 shows how to remove an air baffle which is supposed to help a little in the heat issue. Anyone with experience, please comment

I saw the 50,000 in the manual BUT if you download the schedule from the HD site there is no asteric or note, so I thought it is part of the 1000 mile schedule.

Removing the air baffle is a 5 minute job. 4 screws and it's off. I've read some opinions here that say you get a lot more head buffeting when it's removed, but I myself don't notice that much. At least not enough to bother me. And living in the desert where it gets over 100 degrees (a lot) it is a little cooler while you're riding.
