Zerk fitting for neck bearing?

Has anyone put a zerk fitting to gease the neck bearing on a sporty? I have a fix my hog video and it is alot of work to gease the neck bearing.

my bike came w/ a fitting but it sounds like a good idea. my shifter shaft did not come w/ a Zerk i drilled & installed one. my older bike has it, good to grease shafts & bearings.

Be careful about adding a zerk in a model that didn't come with one. Some models have open frame tubes where it joins to the neck and all you would do is to fill the entire frame with grease.

Never pulled the bearing but since there is no fitting i would assume it is a sealed bearing. If so then you would have to change bearings first. also No grease cup as the other bikes have. Only reason you have to re grease the bearings on big bikes is that the grease comes out a little at the time. Sportsters dont have this issue so there would be no need until the scheduled maintenance.
