By all means if it is dirty wash it first. If it just has a bit of dust, it's not necessary.

When the bike gets layered in bug guts, I use Simple Green at a 50/50 mix. Spray on and let set a couple minutes respray and then wash. The goo comes off alot easier. Then I use Pledge to finish off.

Anyone else tried pledge furniture wipes? Same stuff as in the spray can only much more conveniant as you only get the polish on the parts you want to shine. No over spray on tyres/brakes etc.

so, you guys use pledge on painted surfaces, chrome, plastic, etc...? What shouldn't we use it on?

Can't say for sure, but probably not too good for the brake rotors.

HA!!! you guys are awsome. Im getting ready for a Patriot Guard Ride today and dont have time to wash and wax so I just took the lemon pledge to my bike. I hope the lemony smell stays with me the rest of the day.

Not to fond of the Lemon Pledge i'm a believer in Mr Sheen Spring Fresh fragrance, prefer the fresher smell.

Hey cavs.....you used pledge on everything...paint,chrome,leather,windshield....ect? Or just chrome. I use glass cleaner on chrome,but i'll give pledge a shot if it's that good.

I think its good for everything but leather and rubber. I read it dries those out.

This sounds like a must try. I hate a dirty bike and this is a lot cheaper than spray cleaner marketed for bikes.
