I try to make one trip a year on my own. Like to get up when I want, ride when I want and eat when I want. Seem to appreciate things at home more when I get back. You,re never alone out there when your on a bike. Always someone wanting to talk to you. I always pack a cell phone and make sure my triple a is paid up.

It is really up to you!. I have traveled alone and in groups and enjoy both. And even when travelling alone, I manage to meet other bikers when I stop and hang out with them for an evening then make my way from there. It is all about what you want to do.

I just completed a trip from Central Texas to Eureka Ca. solo. Was a great ride. Did hook up with a few fellow riders. Ended up with a 6900 mile trip. Did enjoy riding with others but also being solo. To each his own.. Good luck.
