I got a shark audio stereo for my fatboy. I am thinking about wiring the amp to the headlight so it turns on and off with the ignition switch. Will that pop a fuse? And will I lose power if I switch to hi beam, or does the low beam stay on with the hi beam? Any reasons I should NOT do this?

Your really would not want to wire the Amplifier into the headlight circuit. You did not quote the current requirements of the amp you purchased but I am sure it draws at least 5 amps. I would have a fused branch after the ignition key for an accessory such as an amp. First define the current required for the amp so you can select the gauge of wire and fuse needed for the circuit.

I agree with Hoople and would also suggest that taking his approach will allow you to listen to your stereo while parked (for a limited time) without the headlight also drawing down the battery.
