I switched to synthetic (Mobil 1 and Spectro) at 5,000 miles on my 09 Road Glide. I come from the water cooled world of the Goldwing so I am a little paranoid about possible engine oil breakdown at high temperatures on air cooled Harley. I guess time will tell whether I put the synthetics in too soon but so far everything has been fine.
