What causes bubbling sound to come from engine?

I have a weird bubble sound that comes from my engine. It literally sounds like a bubble being blown in my engine but it only makes it at idle. I just rebuilt my engine and I wonder if it could be caused by air that is somewhere in the fuel, oil, or any other part of the engine that has yet to find its way out.
 
The Guru's here, I'm sure, will need more info, ie; which model, what year, stock?, etc.
 
Bubbling noises? Like blowing into a soda with a straw?
What kind of exhaust do you have on there? Is it carbureted?
