We've been thru this before...remember, the way these things work is they actially depress the valve stem core to allow access to the air pressure, thus the problem with creating leaks.
Don't be lazy!! Do it right...while you're down there checking pressure, it gives you a chance to glance around at everything else. Sometimes you may be able to spot a problem area before it bites you.
