How do you get around the vacuum part of the petcock? Meaning instead of the "stock" style of petcock can an old-style be put on the bike? This is on a 1998 FXSTC

If not in the habit of turning off the petcock after every ride, going to a standard one can lead to a fuel incident. The vacuum style shut them selves off. so if the needle valve were fouled or a float issue occurs. The standard one when not shut off will drain the tank. Be sure and turn it off.
