V&H Straight Shots

Give us a bone here! What ELSE do you have on the motor and have you done any internal mods? Breather? Cams? Tuner? Will it HURT the motor? Probably not. Will it run lean and possibly give you a little bit of a lean "pop", probably.
 
The question here is why? If you want loud you can change baffles but you DO need a bit of back pressure, plus you need some thing for scavenging, baffles do this
 
Short answer is "Yes" & "Yes." First, you could run the motor lean and take chance @ scoring piston. Second, you'll definitely get tired of saying "WHAT" every time someone asks you a question...hearing loss.
 
You will likely lose a bit of power, since she won't run quite as well as she does with baffles in, unless you are doing the quarter mile at higher rpms.
