thanks guys for all the input,this really helps me with my decision. looks like I am going to give the fuelpak a try. i hope it works as well for me as it has for others. it seems simple enough and i am all about simple.

put one on my ultra last month, stage 1 kit, SE mufflers, stock pipes,
bike runs cooler, seems to mave more torque, better sound
easy install, took about 20 minutes

I've had a Fuel Pak on my 07 RG since early in 08...and it's been a great improvement. Bike runs clean and cool with the V&H True Duals. I'm sure there are better modules, but for my pennies, the F-P was a good choice. No regrets.

Another Fuelpak user here.Very happy with V&H Power Duals and monster rounds.

Had the TFI on my previous bike and I liked it as well.Very easy to adjust for an old carb guy like me.

Does the stage1 affect the warranty on the bike?

The stage 1 has no effect on warranty. Some dealers will try to tell you that it will if they don't install it but find another dealer then.
