Universal Tachometer Question

I'm nearing completion of rewiring my 99 softail fatboy. I'm installing a universal tachometer. It has 5 wires two for back lighting, green for - coil post, black for + or ground (?)Which one, and a yellow with black stripe. I'm not sure where the yellow/black wire goes. As well as where the black wire. I appreciate any help. Thanx

What brand is the tach? In normal thinking for me the black would be for ground.I would think the Y/BK would hook to your Pink wire in the stock harness. I think it comes from your ECM. If you know the brand you may be able to get the wiring diagram from there web page.

It's a generic brand I got off ebay. It's one of those small handlebar mounted ones.

Then it is unknown to me. If it was a dealer type e-bay site maybe they can tell you the brand.
