Ultra Cool Fan

That is what I will do, heat shrink it black and then put it in a nice covering, the only thing I really do not like about it is the cover, gotta find someone to paint it I think. As far as someone saying it be watercooled after install, that is ok, not that I have a ton of money in my motor, but 5000.00 is worth protecting as much as possible. :s

How did he hide the red wire against the black frame? I would think it would stand out like a sore thumb. :newsmile106:
not sure, I'll ask next time I see him. I would guess probably used black heat shrink and labeled it. JMO I'll find out

I kind of figured about the heat shrink tubing. Unfortunately, to most, it is only available in short pieces. Of course, you can get it in rolls. But, unless you work in the electronic/electrical field, you will have alot of heat shrink tubing going to waste.

Not a HD purist but quite honestly I think it "looks" cheesy and bulky like the old style portable TV tube sets of old hanging on the chin of the bike. But looks aren't everything, the models adorning the bike certainly "looked" better and if it performs well as Glider says "--who cares what other's think?" :lolrolling

You can get heat shrink in 4' lengths if you look hard enough. Places like McLendons Hardware and maybe Home Depot. I keep 4' lenghts of 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 & 3/4 around.

I run the 'other' fan kit sold on EBay for the stock cooler. Requires cooler removal but very simple to install. Comes with complete instructions and a plug for the vacant Aux under the seat. Definately helps by 25-30 degrees in hot temps or when riding escort with PGR.

Why not cut the red wire short and splice on a black wire covering the joint with a short piece of heat shrink.

I use the *****, and I can sit in traffic all day and my temp never goes above 215F. They have two versions, manual and automatic and will fit any horizontal oil cooler.:cheers
