true or false?

I'm hearing more and more, that as an engine wears, you should use a heavier oil,in particular, diesel oils because they'll fill the greater tolerances thru wear and tear that occur in your engine.I personally am disinclined to believe this, but it seemd to have the ring of truth about it the way it was told to me.What say you guys, true or false and why??

If wear is that great to need a heavier oil, the engine should be rebuilt. Stick with the 20/50 that you start with.

False

If the engine is that worn out, It will have to work harder to pump the heavier oil and end up breaking sooner.

I agree with glider, time for a rebuild.

False but read your harley manual it recommends if you cant use harley oil and are in need then to buy a diesel oil to top off the oil system and change completely when you get home
