Total shut down of electrical system

Seems to me there was a H D recall on the main breaker:s Check your dealer for a bulletin

"I would on side of the road turn the key switch off and on couple of times and power would be restored the bike would run ruff for a few mins"


Could be problems with ignition switch

Just a long shot. Have you checked the harness to ECM connection?

Ahhh...the ol' can't see the forest because the trees are in the way.
Bad breaker would do exactly what everybody has been trying to fix.
I hope it's that simple!!!

So what I have done to correct problem, I replaced the systems relay, replaced 40 amp main resettable breaker, also up this breaker to 50 amp,

Breaker has been changed and upgraded to 50 amps unit.

Did the recall recommend 50amp breaker? Doesn't say so. Who's recommendation to upgrade to a 50amp from 40 amp breaker?

So he's bumped the main up to 50 (never did understand why that was) and is it still blowing ? Was the recall for the 40 or the 50 ?

I did have a dryer breaker go bad and start tripping once in my house after I drove my self nuts testing the dryer out.

Never seen a main go bad though, but it's just another breaker, it could.

Would love to see the final outcome on this. Has been a great thread.
