Tips for installing and removing manifold flange nuts

Looking for tips on easiest way to remove and install flange nuts on exhaust; i.e. availability of thin wall socket, swivel and drive extension tools which can be utilized. Is it necessary to remove the heat shields?

I use a 1/4" drive 1/2" wiggler socket. works great but you probably will have to remove the shields.

Do NOT use "anti-seize" when re-installing the nuts.
I did this thinking it would be good preventative maintenance.
Ever since the nuts will not stay torqued properly and I have to continually be retightening them.

It's the universal joint used with a ratchet or there's a set with the universal built right into the socket.
