Throttle down problem

I have been having a problem with my 96 Springer jerking when I let off the throttle to slow down. The engine sounds a little uneven but fine when I stop and idle. I replaced the plugs and filter with no results. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I would then look into the "condition" of the belt then move on to the primary chain tension and go from there.

Always happy to help out a fellow springer owner. Here's my 96.Primary chain adjustment is 5/8 to 7/8 in. with the eng cold. This is obtained threw the primary inspection plate. The nut should be re tourqued to 25 ft.lbs. and replace the gasket.Drive belt deflection should be 3/8 to 1/2 on top in the center with the axle tourqued to 65 ft. lbs. after adjustment. One question, is it jerking when you slow down or when you down shift. This isnt a Yamaha, you must get the revs up before downshifting or the belt will lock up.Those high revs you here from a Harley slowing down arent to make the rider feel cool.
