Throttle cable

couple of quick questions please :
I had pull close cable break earlier . when ordering a new one are the pull-open and pul-close cables different from each other and should I buy both or just the one I;m changing.

Also when measuring , do you measure the outer casing sleeve for length or overall cable

Considering one already broke I would suggest replacing both cables.

Here is some info from the HD website on choosing the correct cables. Choosing cables with the correct housing length is important but the travel of the cable within the housing has to be correct also.

I would change them both too. The throttle cable (pulling one) takes a bit more abuse than the other one and if you are changing one and have to open up the throttle housing, it's just as easy to change them both.

The dealer should be able to look up the proper cables for your bike in their book.

The cables are different the close cable has a wee spring that sits at the carb end of the outer sleeve
