New to Forum - Rider 35 years plus - 1996 Springer Softail - need information on where to find the transmission drain plug as it is NOT where this manual says it's suppose to be!!!, so there's my stupid question of the day!! Thanks for any help
On some softail gearboxes you will find the drain plug below the cover on the right side of the gearbox
to gain acess you may have to remove some of the exhaust system
Have you looked under the bike in between the shocks? Thats where plug is at on my 2010 FatBoy.
The only dumb question is the one not asked.
I'm sure somebody will chime-in here and tell you exactly where your drain plug is.

Ask that question at Harley and they told me to look for the "dual" wrench plugs. The drain plugs will accept an allen wrench in the center or an end wrench.
