Stock exhaust mods

Has anyone tried to modify stock mufflers on 07 or later touring mufflers by trying to drill end baffle out. Would like to get it just a little louder without having to buy a tuner.

You'll change the tune of the motor only to have a louder sound. Much better to do it right and hang a new exhaust. I put a Vance & Hines Pro Pipe 2-1 on mine. It sounds great and I haven't needed to remap. It runs great. The O2 sensors do a good job of managing fuel. They might work the same for the drilled stock pipe but I'd still worry about proper flow and back pressure. My bike is an 07 Ultra Classic.

The 07 mufflers aren't like the older ones where you could drill through the baffler (plug) in the center. They have a ramp type setup that diverts the flow to the outer shell and back again like a wedge. You would need a grinder to make a hole in it.

Don't do it though.Engine will not run right.
