I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the old wiring from the stator/regulator connector on a 2001 Electra Glide. I have the new stator installed but can't see in maunual or online how to remove the individual wires at the connector so I can install the new ones. Do I need a special tool or can something like a paper clip be used in a pinch?

I think just a small screw driver if it has the large spades or paperclip if it has the pins

I just used a very thin, narrow bladed screw driver to release the tabs and allow the wires to be removed from the plastic connector. They have a tool for that, but make-shift works too!!

A pocket screw driver was my best friend, I found I used that tool every day on the job, a paper clip can work in a pinch, the key is to go easy so not to pierce the wires:D

Deutsch Connector Contact Removal Tools Here is a link to some tools, you could easily make a few of them:D
