Starting Problem

I have a 1991 Fatboy, Just lately when I go to start it I have got to push the starter switch three or four time before anything happens. It doesn't click or do anything but it will start after a few times of hitting the starting switch. I have put in a new starter switch thinking it would solve my problem but it didn't

The next thing I would look at would be the starter relay and the connections.

Short across the starter solenoid to rule out the starter being the problem

Do you need to remove the oil tank to get to the relay, I can see it but I can't get to it.

I had a similar problem.
After cleaning the clean connections, I put the accessory lead (for the air pump) on top of the battery connection (rather than below it). All is fine.
