Starter Problem

hope this is still in the topic.

recenlty, been having trouble with fxdx starter. I thought it was the battery. checked the battery, all good. i once tried to jump start, nothing.:dknow

last night it failed to start, and i had people pushing :sd the bike several times and it worked.
this morning, fortunately, the starter didnt fail.:bigsmiley8:

there's this click sound coming from around the tranny case when the starter fails. i then after 15mins/few hours/even a day, start it again, then vroomm..the big twin awakes.

any help please? thanks!

just to share...

went to the regular mech. batt charging was fine.
then the internal part of cellenoid (see pic, inside the round cover, below the battery) was kinda rusty or dusty, so it had to be cleaned by small brushed. after that the starter's been doing ok.

also got some tip, when starter fails (if batt is in good cond) some times weird sound like steel cracking (not click, different issue) coming from primary. unfortunately cant explain it here. but my mech says, if that happens, put 1st gear in, release clutch then push the bike back n forth, then put it back in neutral, try to start the engine.
