I have an '09 FXSTC that will make the dreaded "Starter Knock" sound. So far it seems if I hold the start button down just a little longer, while the engine spools up, the knocking is reduced. I'm only talking a fraction of a second, I have to listen carefully!

I'm still checking it out, I don't have conclusive results yet!
