I don't know if this is the right place but I have an 89 sporster and am wondering if I need to check the oil while the bike is on the kickstand or straight up. Or when I can find out.

I have a 2001 883 there is what appears top be a plastic breather under the seat , after the engine has been running a while oil is coming out of this breather ???? any ideas ?????

Could the oil be a little to full?
