Speedometer Issue

I have an 03 Electra glide and installed 04 SE gauges and rewired them, everything works but the speedometer reads way to fast about 60 mph fast, how can i correct this

Hi there Bigmoe, i may be wrong but i think the factory changed the data bus around then. That could cause your symptoms. When i was wrenching for a dealership back then i reflashed a bike (03/04) and took it out for the shakedown run. Got way high readings on the speedo. it turned out to be the wrong update for that year and it was to do with the different data bus. This may be why your speedo reads high. Have you got the original speedo to test it out again?

If it turns out to be that, you will need an SE speedo from an 03 model (if there is one).
