Speedometer drive cable replacement

How do you remove the cable from the drive unit on the front wheel? I have found the small brass screw and removed it but nothing released. Do I need to apply more force or am I missing something. I don't want to make a simple job into an expensive one. 1995 Ultra Classic Tourglide.

I recently replaced the speedo drive on my dyna but can not remember what i did to get it off but it is an easy removal i think remove screw and unscrew cable outer the inner cable just pushes in
