speed inop on 2002 sportster

1 have a 2002 sportster 1200 custom, while returning from traverse city yesterday my speedometer quit working and the turn signals wont cancel anymore . the speedo head powers up( odometer LCD and lights come on). anyone have any ideas where to start..

checked the sensor, no debris. thought the connector was loose, reattached, still did'nt work. replaced the vss sensor and works perfect. thanks for your help. this is my first time on this site, i think your doin a great service to all us harley owners.

Thanks and glad you got it working again. These electronic parts seem to give a few problems in general.
