friend of mine just got a 1966 pan head. Nice bike except for the fact that its
in BOXES!! Does anybody know where I can get a free factory download

1966 was first year of the shovel head. Had a pan (slab side) bottom though.

Your friend has a fine machine, is it a hard tail or glide?

It's been a long time ,I guess it could be a hard tail with a glide front end . Mine [pan] was a hardtail with a worn out springer, my friend had a hydro glide . Man I really thought that old bike was something ,those were the good old days .

I restored several classic cars and always wanted to take on an old Harley. Just never found the right project over the years. The boxed projects are the greatest especially if all the original parts on there. Keep us updated sounds like a great project.
