Simple Load Test For Battery

    Since our lights come on with the ignition this puts a small load on the battery. Assuming the battery being tested is @ full charge 12.7 volts, attach a volt meter @ the battery, switch to dc volts, when cranking engine if the voltage drops below 9.6 volts you can bet money you have a bad battery, and or a lazy starter. If the bike fails to start, let it set for 5 minutes, recheck static voltage across the battery, I bet it is less than the original starting voltage, this too is a give away you have a bad battery
