Much discussion re the use of gell etc. Some like Jel and others dont.

I called a local custom bike shop in Orlando who referred me to Thrasher Custom Seats in Orlando.(looked up website and they have been there since 1985) Thrasher says they install Jel but think it is a waste of money. They say the re foam your seat with better quality foam and that is all you need. I called Millers in Daytona and they referred me to an upolstry shop who told me the same thing.

Anyone here have any luck with a simple re foam of the factory seat?

I have had two Mustang seats and have also used a jel pad. One thing to check before you go through the trouble and expense of repadding a seat, is to check the construction of the seat pan. Many of these allow for flexing and are not rigid enough. I don't know how much it would cost you to refoam a seat, but it might be worthwhile checking on the cost of a New Mustang or other aftermarket seat.

I paid $100 to refoam my seat and they lowered it for me also. If you call them they will work with you in many different ways to get what you want.
1-866-550-seat or go on line and veiw their site.
