saddle bags and paint rub?

i just got some throw over saddle bags. i am worried about the leather rubbing paint off of the rear fender. i was thinking about using the soft part of a velcro strip and attaching it to the leather on the bags so it wouldn't rub of my nice paint? any other thoughts? i looked through the self help but couldn't find this, i am sure it is there somewhere

I used to use an old mouse pad between the fender and bags. Now I think you can find the clear plastic stick on paint protector.

The solution is to either find it on your own or have your dealer order for you, the clear protector that harley uses on softails to prevent the pillion from rubbing on the paint. You could use some sort of pad but that will still cause wear because they will continually rub together. In the long run the plastic is the way to go. I used it on the swing arm to protect the paint from saddlebag wear. It costs about $8 for two 5x10 pieces.
