Saddle bag latches on 2011 FLHX

I purchased chrome face plates (90601 & 90603) and noticed that the screw holes for the latch locks are not threaded. Do they self-thread when I put the screw in or do I need to tap the hole?:dknow

Look at the end of the screw. If it has a "chip" out of the end, it's self tapping.
It's been a while since I've had one apart, and don't remember.

The screws were not notched, so I broke out the ole tap and die set and tapped the holes. Works great!
