What is a good product for taking road tar off my motor?

This is a great product for road tar that will not harm your paint.Been using it in a body shop for 20 years.

Excellent product, use it for many things, never tried it on road tar though.

+1...This stuff works wonders. Use it on my cars. Xylene is the main chemical I believe.
PS. A well respected body man in our area recomended this also.

I used the WD today. The tar came right off. Worked so good I have been telling people at work about it.

Brake cleaner works well also. Leaves no residue like WD40 (although I do like the smell).

WD40 works great on tar, being they are both petroleum based products, with side benefit that it smells better than kerosene. It also helps remove decals, labels, bumper stickers and the like, left over contact adhesives if you peel off paper backing.

They do sell bug and tar spray, but like Glider said, WD-40 has always worked well for me.
