Road King - Police Model

Hi,
I recently purchased a Police model RK. It still has the Radio box base plate on the back which I need to do something about. HD in the UK quoted me £1000 for the actual radio box!! So that's out the question. I have tried after market suppliers for a luggage rack as this has a solo seat, but with no joy. Has anyone else done something similar & if so, where did you purchase from?

Why not just remove rack.
Another option at least in the U.S. is that there are many aftermarket fiberglass boxes that can be purchased and installed on many different applications. Searching the web you will find may different ideas.

I was after something a bit more authentic. Failing that a small chrome luggage rack. I will kepp looking

Or you could forgo the single saddle and install a touring saddle and backrest....

Depends what you want to end up with. A RK looking bike with rider/passenger seat and backrest (like dbmg suggested) or an Electroglide set up like the Ultras or Ultra Classics. For the former, you do not even need the backrest to make the bike look like a civilian RK. Just the double seat would do it. But I would be tempted to keep the rack on the bike just for the convenience of having something to strap the case of beer to!!! The latter requires a lot more stuff to mount the Tourpak and passenger lazyboy seat on.

Your choice in what you want to spend and what you want the bike to be.
