I am new to the forum, so thanks for any help. I run a 1968 FLH Shovelhead. Had to replace the drive chain recently. I am having trouble with the master link clip popping off. Have readjusted the rear tire. Checked for wear on the sprockets, all is good. Learning to wrench on my bike as I go, trying to do most things myself, is this an issue I may need a real mechanic?

Thanks for the video. Mostly covered replacing an O-Ring chain, I am guessing I my have not pressed the cover link tight enough. Going to try the c-clamp method and see where that goes. Again thanks for the response...

If that does not work I would take a closer look at the sprockets. I always replaced the sprockets when I changed out the chain. Worn sprockets will cause the new chain to wear out quicker. The sprockets may also be warped.
