Believe me, I don't take postings or e-mail from the internet at face value. I like to verify such advice, and always "measure 3 times before cutting once".

That's a good idea, but what you were asking about was to try to get 3 functions out of 2 filaments or 2 functions out of 1 filament would be more accurate. The run/brake/turn modules will give 3 functions from one filament, which is the only to get all 3,if you wanted to use the 1157's in the rear I would opt for additional brake lighting and I think it could be safely done without overloading your brake light circuit....but like you said, verify before cutting.
 
That is what I was getting ready to do, I just havent found the dual element signals yet like the ones on the front. I just want running and signals on them so no problems. Everything else is going to be led to keep the load down.
