What is the matter with it? Typically, all that is needed is a new spring. But if you are changing to a fancy one, it is easy to do. Just put the bike on some blocks or something that will keep it upright while you take off the stand.

BTW, good idea to get yourself the HD Factory Service manual covering your model and year.

You guys have to go into the self help forum and poke around.:D

Self Help Information and Tips - Archive - Harley Davidson Community

Clicking on the title in any topic will take you to the post with the pictures etc and then use the "back" button to back out to the list again.

Lots of good info in there for the reading and it's all categorized.

Sprinlerfitter...if you looked at the bottom there is also place for member contributions if you have a Self Help Tip that works and benefits members. So even some of us earthbound mortals can "aspire" to brief inspirational bits of wisdom.
