Removing boot scuffs from pipes?

I've used fine steel wool with wd-40 to take stuff off the pipes.

See if your local stealer has some of this. It's a little expensive but doesn't take up much room bag or tool pouch. If you can carry it with you , you don't have to wait till you get home to clean your pipes off.

Good ole fashioned Lighter Fluid works great for me. Leaves no residual dulling. Use it just about every week on my ride.
