Removing and reusing stock hand grip

What is the best way to remove the stock left side hand grip on an '02 Fatboy without damaging it?

I have used electronic spray cleaner and it loosens everything up just fine then slide off. wd-40 will work but if you don't get it real clean it will not stick. electronic cleaner will dry with no residue.

Compressed air in the right side and cover the holes

Yep, the glue's pretty much all solid and all it takes is a good twist/jerk sometimes to break the bead (similar to tires). Question - are you pretty much set on keeping the stock grip? Replacements are fairly inexpensive ($50 - $80) and can give your grip added comfort/style. Might be a good time to swap both...??
