Removed the Cat

They moved the CATs to the headpipe cause in 2009 most guys were changing the exhaust mufflers along with the cats just forward of them. In 2010 they moved the CATS into the headpipe like the CVO & California models as SE103 stated to eliminate "tampering" EPA, government and MOCO had found. . So now the "hot" ticket is to fit the 2009 49 state version headpipe and keep your 2010 California, CVO 2009 ones for that "rainy day", when mandated inspections come around...!

I have 2009 SG from Canada which is suppose to have cats.(International bike) Are the cats inside the muffler or ahead of the muffler? I changed to Rinehart mufflers and I didn't recall seeing.

They are in the front of the mufflers.

Let me get this straight...they are in the header pipe where the muffler inlet clamps on? How difficult is it to remove them?
